Our Mission:

“Reaching and equipping today’s incarcerated youth to become tomorrow’s leaders.”

Our Work:

Reach North Georgia.

Our Strategic plan includes programming to reach youth inside the Gainesville and Gwinnett Co., GA Regional Youth and Juvenile Detention Centers.

Inside the Detention Center: The aim by of our inside programming is two-fold. We want to convince students that they have far more potential than they previously imagined and we want to create a pathway for meaningful mentorship to begin. The decisions that led each student to the detention center weren’t made overnight. They can’t be unmade through a short-term program at the detention center. However, if our program can change a mindset and connect a student with a long-term mentor, we might be able to slowly rewrite a story that changes a life.

Speaking & Activities:

Flip the Script: Flipping the script is a testimony-based program where we connect with students through sports (or other activities of interest) and bring in someone to share how God flipped the script in their life. Stories are powerful because they remind us we’re not alone. We want to help students connect with others who found themselves on the wrong path, only to discover that God could rewrite their story and lead them down a different path.

A truer and better story: We want students to examine the story that they are writing. We are all living in light of some story - the question is, where does our story come from, and where is it taking us?

Mentoring: The purpose from each speaking/activity is towards mentorship. We want to pair students with mentors while they are at the Detention Center, so we can continue those relationships when they return home.

Outside the Detention Center

The aim of our outside programming is to provide a substantial support network that can help students reach their God-given potential as they return home from the detention center. This support network includes:

Mentoring: Mentoring relationships that were formed at the detention center will continue after a student is released from the facility. Our aim for these mentor relationships are lifelong friendships.

Reach North Georgia Check-ins. Our staff team will check-in with students weekly for 6 months and transition to monthly check-ins following.

DJJ Partnership: We would like our Mentors, staff team, parent(s), and case workers to hold a Team meeting upon a student's release.

Connection with partner organizations. We will partner with dozens of non-profits providing youth services throughout Hall & Gwinnett County Georgia. We want to connect students to resources based on geography and needs, upon their release.
